ClearDuct™ excels in comparison to traditional butt fused polyethylene ducting. Machined pipe ends enable a calculated recess for bead seating, guaranteeing no protrusion of the bead into the internal bore of the duct. This means no internal debeading tools and the problems this generally leads to on-site and high productivity welding parameters so you can install up to four times more meterage of pipe per hour.

How it works…

ClearDuct™ consists of a premium grade PE100 pipe with CNC machined pipe ends, which once butt fusion welded, contain the internal weld bead within the pipe wall. This removes the need to internally debead each joint. Increasing operational productivity, whilst more importantly mitigating any risk of damage to the electrical cables during the pull-through installation as the internal bead is completely withdrawn from the internal bore of the pipe.

Traditional butt fusion welding requires internal debeading to eliminate the weld bead as a potential snagging point for the cables. Any contractor who has carried out this procedure will know that it is a lengthy process that is difficult to achieve repeatability leading to the lengthy and awkward reworking of the ducts – it also limits you to maximum pipe lengths of 12 metres. Users of ClearDuct™ therefore also negate the need for camera surveillance before commissioning the duct.

The carefully calculated joint interface profile has been specifically developed to ensure the strongest possible weld geometry when the pipes are under high tensile loads during the horizontal directional drilling process.
